Extender.Linksys.com Problems: Causes and Solutions
Check the positions of the router and the extension if you are having trouble connecting the Linksys repeater.
Whenever you set up a repeater for the first time, you must ensure that it is nearer the router. Unplug the extension when you've finished setting it up and relocate it to its new position.
You might try moving the Linksys repeater and router to different locations to lessen signal interference.
Make sure the router and the ext are not placed next to anything made of metal, anything reflective, stone walls, etc.
It is best to keep the extension and router away from any equipment that could interfere with their signal. Wait until the WPS button turns from solid orange to off before attempting to create any connections if you are using a Wi-Fi Protected Setup.
